Dream Chronicles airship ride
Hi all,
Have you guys seen Lyra’s super cool airship in Dream Chronicles: The Book of Air? In the new game, players can explore the world of Dream via her airship. To celebrate the official launch of Dream Chronicles: The Book of Air Collector’s Edition this past Thursday, we hosted 7 members of the media, 3 of our local Dream Chronicles fans, our CEO Mari Baker, and Senior Product Marketing Manager Becky Ann Hughes on a real airship ride over San Francisco!
They weren’t flying over the world of Dream Chronicles, but they still had a fun adventure and got to see some awesome views from above:

Dream Chronicles Local Fan Day
As mentioned in the previous post, last Thursday, we invited four local Dream Chronicles fans in San Francisco to celebrate the upcoming launch of Dream Chronicles: The Book of Air! The invitation included time to play the game, a trip to the California Academy of Sciences, a tour around PlayFirst’s office, and time to speak with a panel of the local Dream Chronicles team.
We started the event out by giving them a 1.5 hour preview of the new game, Dream Chronicles: The Book of Air. When asked how the latest Dream Chronicles game compares to the previous three, one of our fans said that The Book of Air "blows [the other games] out of the water!" Another fan mentioned that the story was very "cohesive" throughout the whole saga and that she "really likes the puzzles."
In this new game, players get to play as Lyra (Faye’s daughter), and one fan commented, "Lyra grew up to be pretty kick butt!" They all loved the challenge of the puzzles, the beautiful artwork, and the fact that they could fly around the world of Dream in Lyra's airship. It was hard to pry them away from the laptops when time was up!
The next day, we had a party limo pick them up from the hotel to bring them to the California Academy of Sciences.
The Dream Chronicles games are all about sustainability so we thought the Academy of Sciences would be a great tie-in to the game. We toured around the Academy, taking lots of photos and checking out all the super cool exhibits.
Following a fun-filled afternoon at the Academy, we hopped back into the party limo and headed for the PlayFirst headquarters in San Francisco. Here, the fans got a chance to speak with Kenny Dinkin, our Chief Creative Officer about the inspiration for Dream Chronicles, how we work with Kat Games (the developer), and much more! They even got to see a video tour of Kat Games’ office in Spain.
Kenny also gave them a tour of PlayFirst’s offices, where all the magic of game-making happens.
Finally, we headed out for a lunch with Kenny; Patrick Baggata, our lead designer for Download Games; and Pete Clark, our lead designer on Dream Chronicles: The Book of Air. We all enjoyed great food and great conversation as the fans got a chance to chat one-on-one with our Dream Chronicles designers.
We’re excited about the launch of Dream Chronicles: The Book of Air on June 24th and hope you are too. What are you looking forward to the most in the new game? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
