Meet the Team: CEO Marco DeMiroz
In the last few interviews, we’ve been interviewing a variety of team members who have worked on, managed or overseen the production of Hotel Transylvania Dash. This week, we are proud to present our interview with PlayFirst Inc. CEO, Marco DeMiroz.
We caught up with Marco this week to learn a little more about him.
1. Could you briefly explain what your role here as CEO entails?
It’s a combination of many responsibilities: setting the vision & strategy, building the executive team, translate the strategy into operational objectives & milestones and then driving the execution together with the rest of the company.
2. What is your favorite part about working at PlayFirst?
The awesome team we have! Our team is super smart, driven and funny! We focus on our collective success model where our achievements and corporate success are a result of our collective efforts and cooperation. We work together and have fun at the same time to build the next big game company.
3. What do you like the most about Hotel Transylvania Dash?
It’s a great combination of a wonderful story by Sony and the super addicting game play of our Dash platform.
4. Who is your favorite Hotel Transylvania Dash character?
Dracula is my #1 choice with Frank as a close 2nd.
5. What do you like to do outside of work?
Anything with my family, especially going to the beach, playing all sorts of mobile games, soccer and tennis plus watching the 49ers!
6. Do you have anything you wish to say to our dedicated fans?
We love and appreciate our fans! They make PlayFirst happen! We are humbled by their loyalty and we are dedicated to developing super fun games that will entertain and engage them.

Hotel Transylvania Advance Screening!
Last night the PlayFirst team took over the San Francisco Metreon to watch an advance screening of Hotel Transylvania! We invited some of the press and even some fans to come enjoy a fantastic evening with us.
PlayFirst celebration before the movie!
Hotel Transylvania was warm, fun and enjoyable! I think what was the best part of the night though was getting to see these characters we have been putting into the game come to life on the big screen!
The movie opens in theaters nationwide tomorrow so make sure you go out and see it this weekend!

How do I get more points?
Make sure you are matching your guest’s color with the room color. When you color match correctly, you will earn awesome tip bonuses! The faster you match guests to their rooms, the more you will earn in tips! Make sure you make use of ‘Blood Drops’ to increase your tips!
What is the point of Blood Bills? Why should I collect them?
Wayne and Wanda are coming to stay and they require a VIP suite! Use the Blood Bills you collect to upgrade their suite to make it the perfect visit! Upgrades include beds, rugs, windows, tables, dressers, etc.
How can I get more Blood Bills?
When it comes to upgrading your items, before every level, make sure to purchase Blood Drops and assign them to the room of your choice. The more Blood Drops your rooms have the more Blood Bills you’ll receive at the end of the level.
How can I make my customers happier?
Upgrades! Buy paintings, murals, urns and potion makers to help increase the overall happiness of your guests. Additionally, several of the guests have taken a particular liking to worm cake! Treating guests to worm cake will increase their happiness immensely!
What are the different types of customers I will have to deal with?
There are 9 types of customers you will be dealing with:
- Fly People - The most easygoing of your monster guests.
- Swamp Monster - Loves daily swims, always asks for a towel.
- Mrs. Blob - Big appetite, orders twice as much food.
- George & Gina Gremlin - Will request pillows, love Worm Cakes.
- Yeti - These noisy guests make a monstrous racket.
- Murray the Mummy - He often knocks things over in his excitement.
- Frankenstein - Wanders the hotel while sleeping - tap to wake him!
- Bigfoot - Loves traveling with an entourage.
- Jonathan - He will scare other guests with his humanness! Tap on him to return him to his room.
What's the difference between Hotel Transylvania Dash FREE/Upgraded and Hotel Transylvania Dash Deluxe?
Free/Upgraded versions of Hotel Transylvania Dash are entirely separate from Hotel Transylvania Dash Deluxe. While they may seem the same, purchases in one do not transfer to purchases in the other.
Hotel Transylvania Dash FREE/Upgraded are the same game client. You are able to download and play a small amount of the game for FREE with additional upgrade features available at a small in app purchase cost. The option to upgrade your game to the deluxe edition from within the free version is available and will allow you to continue your progress without starting over.
Hotel Transylvania Dash Deluxe is a paid version of the game that features the hotels from the free edition including any additional in app purchases. Players can purchase the full game outright if they wish to maximize their content and gameplay. If you require further explanation or clarification, our support team can assist.
How many hotels are there?
There are three wings in Hotel Transylvania, each with new challenges.
- The Main Hotel
- The Howling Wing
- The Dungeon
Additional levels are to be released as in-app purchases.
I'm having technical issues and cannot find the solution myself! Who do I talk to?

Murray the Mummy may look scary but deep down he’s a good guy. He’s the life of the party and likes to keep things real. He’s also guest at Hotel Transylvania and looking to party it up whenever and wherever he can!

Hotel Transylvania Movie Trailer!
A few weeks ago we announced a partnership with Sony to create the Hotel Transylvania mobile game.
This week we bring you the Hotel Transylvania movie trailer, released a few months ago by Sony. The trailer should provide a sneak peek into the quirky characters and their backstories.
Stay tuned over the next couple weeks for a lot of new Hotel Transylvania Dash content including some cool pictures and videos.

PlayFirst and Sony Pictures partner to develop Hotel Transylvania Dash!
We are excited to announce that we’re partnering with Sony Pictures to develop Hotel Transylvania Dash, the official mobile game for the upcoming animated comedy Hotel Transylvania.
Sony approached us to work on Hotel Transylvania Dash for our “proven, immersive game mechanic and a worldwide recognized brand.” - Mark Caplan, VP of Licensing and Consumer Products for Sony Pictures Entertainment.
The Hotel Transylvania movie is set around Dracula’s lavish five-stake resort, where monsters and their families can live it up, free to be the monsters they are without humans to bother them. On one special weekend, Dracula has invited some of his best friends – Frankenstein and his wife, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, the Werewolf family, and more – to celebrate his beloved daughter Mavis’s 118th birthday.
For Drac, catering to all of these legendary monsters is no problem – but everything could change for the overprotective dad when one ordinary guy stumbles on the hotel and takes a shine to Mavis.
Hotel Transylvania Dash will be available in the App Store on September 20, 2012. The movie launches on September 28th in the US.
