Egg vs Chicken iPhone tips and tricks
Even the hardest boiled eggs will encounter some trouble defeating those clucksters in Egg vs Chicken for iPhone and iPod touch. We gleaned some tips and tricks from the game's designer, Dana. Check them out below:
Score Stars
It's easy to pass a level, but there's some strategy required to earn the full 3 stars for it.
First, kill as many chickens at once as you can. The more you destroy at once, the higher the points, so get your eggs lined up, wait for the chickens to fill the screen, and then fire! Try to kill the toughest chickens last to get the biggest reward.

One important note: you don't get points for just hitting the chickens. That's lame - they can still peck at you! No, you only get points for total obliteration.
Next, you don't get anything for having eggs left over after the game. You do get points for the number of eggs you shoot at once, so there is no point to conserving your ammo. Once you get a large group of eggs activated, fire them off even if there's nothing to hit. Tip: try to shoot off a group in between chicken waves.
Egg strategy
Some chickens require more hits before they're fried. Lining up your eggs vertically is a good way to kill really tough chickens.
Elemental eggs should be used on the opposing elemental chicken for maximum effect. Use ice eggs against fire chickens, for example. Using the same elemental on a chicken will not deal damage, but it will push the chicken back a little if you need to buy yourself some time. One exception: if you upgrade your elemental egg, it will deal a little bit of damage even to the same elemental chicken, but not as much as an opposite elemental would.
Powerups
Add to your battle arsenal by obtaining the right powerups, such as bombs. You can purchase upgrades using the stars you earn for each level - more reason to play levels again and score big. In some levels, it's impossible to get 3 stars the first time through. You'll need to get powerups first and come back later to beat them.
Which upgrade to get is up to your personal preference and battle style. We recommend getting at least upgrading your white and brown eggs. Note that while upgrading your eggs makes it easier for you to kill more chickens at once, the trade off is that you won't shoot as many eggs as you used to before, which results in lower points. Balance this out by killing as many chickens as possible in one wave.
While you get points for killing chickens with bombs and mines, you won't earn a chaining bonus on those kills. The best way to maximize your score is to take out the chickens with eggs. In a pinch, the power-ups can be lifesavers.
And in case you didn't notice: purchased power-ups replenish every level. Once you buy it, it’s yours!

Great info. I’m stuck at “No Spring Chicken” level. I have 86 eggs and says I need 414 more to open the next carton. I have 2 out of 3 stars on all previous levels and some 3/3 stars. How do I up my egg count? (I’ve replayed several levels and my star and egg count don’t change). What does the egg count refer to? How many eggs I used in each round? If so, it hasn’t changed in many, many rounds. Help, please.
