Grand prize winner
My parents met when my uncle brought his friend Ovid home to meet his sister Gloria. Ovid was on his Harley. Gloria jumped on it and burned the entire side of her leg on the exhaust. He couldn't resist her and her three little girls. They were married 50 years. Both have since died, but the story of their meeting is ever present.

Identical secrets
I met J on a social networking site. We talked online for 5 months before we even met and we lived 25 minutes away from each other. I think we were nervous to do so but also scared because we were both divorced and they weren't smooth ones, so we really were apprehensive. I was also scared to inform him that I had four children, thinking this would scare him off.
I procrastinated telling him for the longest time. When I finally did, it was over a phone call to him that I got brave enough to make. As soon as I told him, he just let out the biggest laugh ever. I was wondering what was so funny. So he says to me, "I have been terrified to tell you this since we first started talking: I also have four children!" So here we were, both worried that if we revealed this to each other that one of us would up and stop talking to the other. To make a long story short, we did finally meet and two months later moved in with each other. We were married in March of 2009 and still deep in love!

Bi-Coastal Romance
I was in CA and he was in MD. He was 25 and I was 37. We had both recently gone through rough break-ups. I was learning to use a computer and exploring Bulletin Board Services. Not interested in a relationship, I received a note from Jon from 3,000 miles away. I figured I was "safe." This would be the start of a 20-year love affair that grows and strengthens every year.
It was 1991 and when J sent me a "rose". I thought he was being inappropriate. He learned I was a computer newbie and we both had a good laugh. "What if you're an axe murderer?", I asked. "What if you weigh 300 lbs?" he asked. He wasn't, I didn't, and I made the move to MD after 3 months of chatting and talking. It was the best thing I've ever done! We were married in 1992, adopted a daughter in 1995 and we're enjoying our empty nest now - as romantic as we were when we first met! Life is good - we met before there was ever an internet or a "cougar!"

Going the distance
We met online about 6 years ago. It was all fun and nothing taken so seriously, we stopped talking for a couple of months because we thought we weren't going anywhere, but then one day we emailed each other because we were missing each other so much. Since that day 3 years ago, we have been going on stronger and every day is getting better.
He is from Ohio and I am from Mexico (yes, a different country). Distance is definitely an obstacle for most long distance relationships but we have found the way to keep the last 3 years so interesting for each other, learning a new thing from one another EVERY day. He is my best friend and I trust him with my most deep, crazy, and weird dreams, and I know he understands me, and we love each other even though we have to live apart. Our dream is the day we get to be together forever. We are a living proof that distance is not an issue and there are lots of ways to keep the love flame going; little love notes, phone calls, pictures... it's worth it!

Plenty of Fish
W and I met online on a dating site called PLENTY OF FISH!. I was showing my friend the site. I was then 47, and she was in her 30's. We were looking at her matches and I thought they were all very nice looking!! I told her she should SEE MY MATCHES!! They're not as great looking as hers! We signed in to my account to and there HE WAS! A face I had never seen before in 2 years on the site. "Hey... I've never seen him before!! ...he's cute!!!"
ALL OF A SUDDEN, the chat box pops up and THERE HE IS, while I was reading his profile. I got all nervous and excited!! "It's him, it's him... what do I do???"
W had been on the site for 2 yrs also, and had never seen my picture. He saw it that night, and just had to say hi. So we CLICKED on each other at EXACTLY the same moment. He says he found me FIRST because he was already requesting the chat with me!! 3 years later, we were having 40 fishbowls on our backyard reception tables with "Plenty of Fish" in them!!
