Meet the PlayFirst staff: Oby1

Ever wonder about the person answering your customer support questions with a smile? Meet Oby1, our Lead Customer Service Representative! He manages an efficient team of two and aims to ensure optimal customer experiences. Read on to learn more about the guy behind the awesome avatar.

What’s your favorite part about your job?

My favorite part about my job is knowing that a decision I have made or an issue that I have communicated to the team will change the trajectory of the business and how our customers engage with our company. I've worked with larger customer service teams before but working on a small team of two with Corax_Vox keeps me inspired as there are opportunities each week to take on new challenges. It’s really been an honor to work with an amazingly talented group of team members and to witness experience the company grow fast and succeed.

So what do you do when you’re not at work?

When I’m not at work, I’m working in the studio as a sculptor/painter. I also enjoy traveling, hiking, and meditation. One of my favorite times is when I go on silent retreats twice a year. There’s nothing in this world more restful then a retreat where all you do is sleep, meditate, and eat. I always say it’s six months of rest in four days!

Which PlayFirst character do you most identify with and why?

I would say, Toshiro from Diner Dash because he likes to cook Japanese food. Japanese is one of my favorites. There’s no such thing as too much Sushi.

What’s your favorite game?

I really got into the latest Cooking Dash: Diner Town Studios. The graphics were amazing and there’s something about working directly in the kitchen that brings out the cook in me. So far, this is my favorite time management game next to Diner Dash: Grilling Green.

What silly things have you done while working at PlayFirst?

I remember being very amused by Applesun’s desk plant when we found a giant population of meal worms living in it. She was determined to kill them all. I tried to keep them alive each day by hiding them from her under the dirt. I need to find some more meal worms…

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?

Most people don’t know that I have an art studio in my basement and that I'm addicted to Chocolatier:Sweet Society. I actually found a way to create a maze in my chocolate shop museum where all of my customers walk on a path of gold tiles to purchase chocolates. I have chocolate raspberry bars mixing at the moment, 2:19:27 remaining!

Anything else?

Lastly, I would like to say, I had an amazing time with our team making Pop-Rock GaGaRitas for Cinco de Mayo. The GaGa Gummy Bear jello and Applesun’s Warhol-look were a hit too!
